A study indicates that men over 50 may need to engage in more than double the amount of moderate to vigorous exercise compared to women to achieve similar heart health benefits. Analysis of activity tracker data revealed that while women could see a significant reduction in coronary heart disease risk with about 4 hours of exercise weekly, men required nearly 9 hours to achieve the same outcome. The findings suggest the need for sex-specific exercise guidelines due to biological differences in how men and women respond to physical activity.
